Live the experience in the reserve
Walk among mist and giant trees, listen to the songs of birds found nowhere else in the world, plant life where pasture once stood, breathe deeply and let nature embrace you.
Each activity is an invitation to reconnect with the forest, with yourself, and with something greater.
Hike Level 1
We have trails with different levels of difficulty.
The first one leads to the river, a 15-minute walk (easy level). It includes some ups and downs, but along the way you’ll be amazed by bromeliads, ferns, the flora of the cloud forest, and the songs of native birds.
At Chocó 701 we are located in a strategic biodiversity hotspot, which makes our reserve a privileged place for birdwatching.
We are building our bird inventory. Some of the species already confirmed in the reserve include:

Blue-gray Tanager, Golden-bellied Flycatcher, Golden-headed Quetzal, Groove-billed Ani, Smooth-billed Ani, Rufous-tailed Hummingbird, and Tropical Parula.

It’s also common to spot guans and parrots among the forest vegetation. And the list will continue to grow over time!

Hike Level 2
After crossing the river, you’ll find our second trail, with an intermediate level of difficulty and steeper ascents and descents.
Duration: another 15–20 minutes.
Harvesting Lemons in the Orchard
Enjoy our organic orchards and pick your own fresh, aromatic lemons. Experience the joy of harvesting straight from the land and savoring the authentic taste of the cloud forest.
Use them to prepare a refreshing lemonade, add a twist to your breakfast, or as a special touch for dinner
Hike Level 3
Our third trail, also intermediate, takes you to discover a centuries-old tree with a trunk measuring 4 meters wide.
Duration: about 30 more minutes.
Farm Activities
Visit our cows and their calves. You can even feed them with a bottle if you’re up for an early-morning milking session.
Enjoy our Bromeliads
All throughout our reserve, you’ll find this incredible plant species in a wide variety of shapes and colors.
Did you know? Bromeliads collect water in their central “cup,” creating a miniature ecosystem that supports frogs, insects, and even small birds in forests.
